A statement regarding the Studio 4 session

Monday · November 2, 1953 · 9:40 P.M. E.S.T.

Earlier this evening, a recording session of The Adventures of Fission Girl in Studio 4 was interrupted by what our engineering department is describing as an unscheduled atmospheric event.

Miss Stella Reed, who has given voice to the Half-Life Heroine with such distinction, is resting. Production will continue on schedule.

Gamma Rad Studios reminds listeners that Fission Girl is a fictional character. Dr. Ida Bainbridge, the physicist on whom she is loosely based, died in 1941. Any transmission suggesting otherwise is unauthorized and should not be listened to, though it is going out on 1480 and the Studio cannot, at this time, stop you.

Reports that Miss Reed was "taken" by "visitors" are irresponsible and bad for merchandise.

Studio 4 is closed until the floor stops glowing. Tours of Studios 1 through 3 continue as scheduled. Visitors are asked not to touch the circle.

Studio 4, as found by the night porter

Photographed for insurance purposes and released to the press by mistake. The Studio would like you to know that every item in this picture has an ordinary explanation. It would also like the picture back.

A 1950s radio studio after something strange: one ribbon microphone knocked to the floor, scattered script pages, a perfect scorched circle on the parquet glowing faintly green, a coat and one black high-heeled shoe left behind, coconut halves and a small door on a frame on the effects table, and a woman's shocked silhouette behind the control-room glass.

    The PBN Pledge Drive Spectacular

Every year the stars of Gamma Rad man the telephones so the network can keep the transmitter warm. Out here in the real world, we're asking whether listeners would back the PBN broadcasts the same way. Pick the pledge you'd actually make. Nothing is charged; this tells us whether to open the phones for real.

Also from the Studio store (would you buy one?)
